Organization Development Certified Consultant Certification Program (ODCC)

The OD Certified Consultant Certification Program (ODCC) provides participants with an opportunity to become certified as an OD Certified Consultant.  Participants will demonstrate how to help organizations manage complex change, changing environment and culture impacting their workforce processes, strategies, leadership, employees, workplace, and community.  Participants will increase ability to help their clients solve critical business challenges and overcome resistance to change.  Participants apply a variety of proven OD applications, tools and processes to advance their consulting skills.

Program Prerequisite

In order to qualify for the ODCC program, you must meet at least one of the following requirements:

  • You must be a graduate of the ODCP program or
  • You must have 6-10 years of experience in HR, Learning, Business and OD
  • You must have a good understanding of the Action Research Model and Systems Theory

 

Certification Requirements

  • Attend all the 8 sessions
  • Complete all assignments after each session
  • Present a case study on a topic of your choice
  • Demonstrate 5-10 OD Interventions
  • Work with a Client to complete an OD project using the Action Research Model and other advanced OD models
  • Present a case study on the project
  • Select a social cause and provide support with your newly acquired OD Consulting Skills
  • Complete a self-development plan to track your professional growth

The cost of the ODCC Certification Program is $3,900.00 USD.

Course Outline:

Session 1:  Intro to ODCC

Participants will recognize the requirements of the ODCC program and their assignments, they will also review the action research model and practice the techniques for helping clients through the process of change to help participants to work with senior leadership teams, manage resistance, gain buy-in, pitch to the C Suite, build collaboration, contract effectively and achieve the OD Objectives.

Session 2:  OD Consulting

The OD Consulting Module will help participants to learn strategic consulting skills for becoming an effective OD Consultant. Participants will learn about the different consultant models and roles, different consulting styles and a powerful consulting process including a step by step approach and a tool to use. Participants will demonstrate the humble inquiry model to further develop their consulting skills.

Session 3:  Leading Complex Change

The Leading Complex Change Module is focused on helping participants learn how people react and adapt to change, understand various models and approaches for effective change management, how to diagnose change readiness, understand the gaps and build a change management plan. Participants will learn to lead OD interventions during complex change, leverage complex adaptive systems, manage through chaos and understand the neuro-science of managing change.

 Session 4:  Dialogic Organization Development

The Dialogic OD Module will help participants transition from thinking of organizations as organisms to organizations as conversations where individual, group, and organizational actions result from self-organizing, socially constructed realities created and sustained by the prevailing narratives, stories, and conversations through which people make meaning about their experiences. Participants will learn Dialogic OD Tools and interventions to be used as part of the OD Consulting process.

Session 5:  Facilitating Action Research Events

The Facilitating Action Research Events module provides participants with skills and tools to design, plan and facilitate learning events associated with the action research model. Participants will recognize their consulting role as a facilitator to ensure meetings and learning events help the senior leader and senior leader team work together collaboratively to lead change.  Participants will learn how to apply a variety of facilitation tools.

Session 6:  Organization Design and Interventions

The Organization Design Module is focused on helping participants learn the foundations of Organization Design, Organization Design Process, Models, Approaches and critical Organization Design Interventions to increase the effectiveness of organizations and ensure organizational success & survival in a VUCA environment. Participants will diagnose organizations, teams & individuals, learn different diagnostic models, questionnaires & tools, learn to choose an appropriate intervention based on the diagnosis, learn to execute interventions for individuals, teams and organizations, measure the impact of interventions.

Session 7:  Implementing Culture Change

The Implementing Culture module is focused on helping participants to understand models and approaches on culture, culture transformation best practices, process to assess the gaps, develop a plan to implement culture change strategies, and help the organization to transform themselves so that they can achieve their goals.

Session 8:  OD Analytics, Case Studies and Feedback and Evaluation

The OD Analytics module will help participants learn to apply the Bottom-line OD Approach to maximize value, increase ROI and achieve measurable outcomes.


Program Learning Objectives:

  • Demonstrate how to lead OD’s model for change – the Action Research Model
  • Influence the client to work as business partner and OD Advisor to build a collaborative team and lead change
  • Recognize a model for leading complex change and managing uncertainty during VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) situations or events
  • Demonstrate Dialogic OD Methods, an alternative approach to the classic OD Action Research Model of Plan Change
  • Demonstrate advanced consulting processes to guide leaders and stakeholders to manage and lead sustainable organizational change
  • Recognize organization design processes and critical interventions to increase organization effectiveness to ensure survival in a VUCA environment
  • Identify several models and approaches to assess current culture and implement cultural transformation strategies
  • Apply analytical tools and metrics to measure the outcomes of OD interventions

Participants will learn to apply analytical tools and methodologies to make OD credible and accountable. Participants will recognize trends and future of OD

Participants will present their case studies demonstrating the OD Action Research Process and applications learned in Advanced ODCC Program

We’ll close the session with a review of the program and a final evaluation.
