Women in IOD
By: Dr. Nancy Zentis, CEO Institute OD
March is Women’s History Month, celebrating the achievement of women and their contributions to their field and the world. This year we’d like to celebrate the women who have been instrumental in growing the field of Organization Development. These women have helped catapult IOD to where we are today.
Over the past 30 years, Patti Dammann has worked in the field of OD providing clients with solutions to help them grow, change, or improve their organizations. She has worked directly with a major railroad company, the US Postal Service, a pharmaceutical company, and an Automotive Aftermarket organization in which she implemented change in their processes, culture, and leadership team during a major acquisition. Patti provides strategic guidance to IOD and is our lead facilitator for IOD’s Certification Programs and brings a wealth of experience and consulting techniques when facilitating each session.
Susan Gervasi has many years of experience as an OD Professional. She worked at Motorola University for 26 years as VP of Learning and Development, managing learning and development processes throughout Latin America. She also worked at a major recycling organization and was instrumental in changing its culture and organization design and learning processes. At IOD, Susan creates our new programs, facilitator trainings, career development process and facilitates our OD Certification Programs. Susan is a dynamic and engaging facilitator and brings her experience and expertise to each of her classes.
Toni Ford is our Human Resource Extraordinaire. Toni has more than 30 years of experience as an HR VP for major organizations in Michigan. She has provided consulting with many large automotive organizations. Her expertise, knowledge, and love of teaching HR is her passion. Participants love her engaging conversations about becoming an HR Business Partner.
Dr. Cindy Banyai works with IOD as our Strategic Advisor. She graduated with her Ph.D. in Community Development in Japan. She lived there for 8 years and speaks fluent Japanese and several other languages. Cindy’s background is in community development research and she uses her skills in data collection and analysis to provide IOD with value and insight into our business. She also leads GIODN, our OD Global Networking Group which offers monthly events, 65 online tools, and a professional networking directory. Additionally, Cindy facilitates our OD Certification Programs and uses her background as an Adjunct Faculty for Florida Gulf Coast University to work with participants using our virtual learning tools.
Dr. Nancy Zentis, the founder of IOD, has worked in the field of OD for over 40 years. She formed IOD in 2001 to provide formal OD training to those working in the field of Organization Development. Over the years, Nancy has traveled globally to introduce the field of OD and formal learning in Africa, Jamaica, India, Middle East, and throughout the United States. Today, most of our certification programs are held online. Nancy is the visionary for IOD and is responsible for innovation and change. She also facilitates our advanced OD Consultant Certification Program and ODCP, our flagship program. Nancy continues to grow IOD and add new technology to streamline the learning process.
